Rick is a 35-plus year veteran of the commercial finance industry. He began his career in 1966 when he worked for an international commercial finance firm while attending Pace University in New York. In 1970, Rick and his wife, Michelle, moved to California where Rick spent the next several years learning the intricacies of the equipment financing and leasing industries from the lending side of the business. In 1977, Rick founded Charter Equipment Leasing Corporation, a general leassor. Eleven years later, Rick and his business partners sold the company to a NYSE listed company and Rick remained at the helm as CEO until 1995. That same year, he resigned and moved to Arizona to establish Media Capital Associates, now known as Charter Capital. Rick has built Charter Capital around his family, working with his son Carey, daughter Chelsea, and brother-in-law Richard. While he derives great pleasure from working with family members, Rick believes the term “family business” transcends bloodlines and marriage ties to the core culture of the company. He fosters a work environment based on nurturing long-term relationships and treating employees and Charter Capital clients like members of the family. Industry Involvement:
